Supply Chain Risk Assessment
For your Third assessment you will build out your supply chain map utilizing the data collected in Assessment 1 and Assessment 2.
As we have now learned, the supply chains are very global, parts touch many countries for any number of reasons: production, storage, transport and distribution. For this assessment you will identify each country your supply chain is involved with. You will then us the 2019 FM Global Resilience Index (https://www.fmglobal.com/research-and-resources/tools-and-resources/resilienceindex) to quantify (rate) the risk that country represents in the four factors that make up the risk to the supply chain. This is already linked in the Moodle page.
This will be accompanied by an approximately 1000 word (+/- 10%) explanation of your findings that includes:
1. Introduction
2. Biggest Country Risk and why
3. Least Country Risk and Why
4. Biggest Individual Risk Factor and Why
5. Least Individual Risk Factor and Why
6. You will then add up the individual Supply Chain Scores and divide to give an overall Geographic Risk Score for your Supply Chain.
7. Identify overall largest and smallest risk factors for the supply chain as a whole.
So in our example above we have product in our supply chain moving between Albania and Algeria – each has a Risk Score for their overall Supply Chain and then sub-scores for each of the factors.
1. Algeria is the biggest country Risk and Albania the least
2. Corporate Governance is the least and biggest individual risk factor for both countries and overall in our supply chain example
3. Overall our biggest individual risk in our supply chain is Corruption at 25 and as an aggregate (or total average) Corporate Governance is our least problem.
